This map of the Leavenworth valley is made from 3 layers of wood. Each piece is laser-cut and engraved with fine details including a custom typeface. The title, main roads and rectangular frame are cut from 3mm walnut. Select areas of the walnut are stained a deep brown to create contrasting look with the inlayed letters. Each city road and building is precisely scored into the middle 3mm birch layer, creating sharp clean lines. The compass rose is engraved and the Icicle creek and Wenatchee river are cut away to reveal a blue stained base layer. The sides and back are painted black and the whole assembled map is sealed with a clear semi-gloss polyurethane. Stand off bumpers and a wall hanger are securely attached to the back. An optional tabletop/shelf easel can be used for vertical product display.
